The innocent 
 
I scream - you don't hear 
I shout - you're still not near 
I want you to understand 
I need you to feel the pain 
Running through these hands 
 
I show you signs 
Yet you seem blind 
I cry a million tears 
You seem to hide 
 
What is it you fear? 
What is it you don't want to hear? 
Is it that you already know? 
Because in this reality you don't show!! 
 
NOTE:  I was watching one of those daytime TV shows as is a DJ's want. The subject was on child abuse and understanding our children more. 
 
Several people were interviewed & all recalled trying to call out to their parent to tell them they were being abused. The parents present said that they never saw any signs. Although in such cases I think it is easy to have an ostrich mentality and bury your head in the sand and pretend it's not happening.  
 
I wrote this with that in mind.
